PT Farm, LLC, a USDA-inspected processing plant in North Haverhill, NH, is recalling approximately 8,800 pounds of raw beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli. A portion of this beef, not all of it, from very limited dates was processed for Robie Farm and is a part of that recall. There have been 13 cases of sickness in four New England states. One of these incidents of contamination was from an account which the Robie Farm Services.
While we consider it an isolated incident, we take our commitment to our customers seriously and want to inform them of the beef recall on some of the products processed at PT Farm.
Robie Farm has utilized the processing services of PT Farm for about 8 years and has never experienced any issues. The quality and safety of our products is of the utmost importance to us, as is our relationship with our customers, who we want to ensure are informed of the recall.
Most of the Robie Farm beef that is part of the recall would have been consumed by now with no reported adverse effects. Customers can do the following:
*1.Robie Farm retail consumers who purchased Robie Farm beef steaks or 2 Lb. packages of ground beef at the Farm store between 06/06/16 and 06/30/16, who still have the product are welcome to return it for a full refund or exchange to the Farm Store.
*2.All Upper Valley Produce Wholesale customers: The following products are subject to recall: PT Farms produced products with the USDA codes of #060916 and #061616.
These were produced between June 9 and June 16, 2016 and distributed on dates between June 13 and June 20, 2016.
Any Robie Farms product with these codes should not be used and should be returned to UVP.
*3.If you purchased Robie Farm beef at another retail location and it contains a sell/freeze by date of 06/17/2016 or 06/24/2016 please return the beef product to that location for a refund.
We are saddened that this isolated incident occurred and want you to know that the beef processor, PT Farm, is taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again.
The current investigation indicates that PT Farm followed all required USDA procedures. PT Farm has implemented steps to avoid future issues on the processing line and added additional training for all workers. We at Robie Farm have great confidence in the Quality and safety of PT Farm’s processing plant and plan to continue to do business with them.
